I asked a little question on Twitter last week: “Who likes a man in uniform? I have a wedding I’d like to feature…?” and straight away the replies came back, all along the lines of Yes Please! and including mentions of firemen and postmen… but this wedding is a cracker, with gorgeous soldiers and a truly inspiring story behind it.
The photographs were sent to me by wedding photographer Colin Greenlees, whose connections with the Royal Anglian Regiment Benevolent Charity led him to Simon and Katie as they planned their wedding. Simon had been seriously injured in Afghanistan and had undergone intensive treatment back in the UK since his return home.
Both Colin (Greenlees Photography) and Simon Revill who assisted with the wedding photography volunteered their services as their way of saying thank you to all the men and women on active duty in Afghanistan and around the world.
The wedding was clearly a very emotional day as Simon and Katie’s friends and family gathered to celebrate with them. The photographs capture many very special moments and they just glow with bright colours and gorgeous details, from Katie’s exquisite gown to all those shiny buttons…
Huge thanks to Colin Greenlees for sharing this wedding with us. Also to Simon Revill, assistant photographer. Both have featured on this blog before: check out the Crondon Park wedding by Greenlees Photography in April, and the Chesterfield wedding by Simon Revill back in March.
And in the spirit of this week’s blog posts on English Wedding which have been all about choosing wedding suppliers, do consider these guys if you haven’t booked your wedding photographer yet. They both volunteered their time and expertise for Simon and Katie’s wedding and that is such an amazing thing to do. Great guys, both of them.
